Leaf River Wildlife Management Area was established in 1940 and is located within the De Soto National Forest off Mississippi Highway 26 and east of Wiggins, Mississippi. It is composed of approximately 42,000 acres of pine forest. Managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, this property is uniquely overseen by both state and federal agencies and serves as an popular recreational and hunting opportunity for residents and non-residents alike.
